A New Road

Last night I dreamed

that I was driving home

and I noticed that an exit ramp which had always been closed-

under construction-

was now open,

so I took it.

It led me to a highway five lanes wide.

My car and one other car were the only ones on the road

and the other car belonged to a local news personality.

I could only see the back of his neck.

I was worried that my car wouldn't be able to get up the steep

incline of the road,

but after

a moment of doubt and hesitation,

I made it to the top.

It was bright and sunny there, and I pulled over

behind the news man

to a scenic overlook...

We didn't speak, but we both looked out at the view

we could see for miles,

beautiful mountains, trees, and scenery.

as we looked, the fog lifted, revealing even more,

including a spectacular castle.

The only association I can think of is that the newscaster has a very strong BS detector, and everyone tells me that mine is way underdeveloped. Since I have just entered a new chapter in my life, I think the dream makes sense- what do you think?
